THE ROLE:

Learn sustainable practices for planting, pruning and caring for various plants, ensuring healthy growth and beautiful landscapes. 

QUALIFICATION: 

AHC21624- Certificate II in Landscaping

SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Practical Skills: Understanding of plant care, soil preparation, and construction techniques.
• Creative Thinking: Ability to design and plan aesthetically pleasing landscapes.
• Attention to Detail
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve landscaping issues

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

Every day is different and varies depending on the job, but you may be involved in:

• Inspecting landscapes for maintenance needs, such as watering, weeding, and pruning.
• Preparing planting beds and planting new plants.
• Mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
• Installing hardscape elements like patios, pathways, and retaining walls.
• Applying fertilizers and pesticides.
• Cleaning up the worksite.
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Collaborating with other landscaping professional

OCCUPATIONAL OUTCOME:

A Certificate II in Landscaping opens doors to careers like Landscape Labourer, Grounds Maintenance Worker, Garden Installer, Greenkeeper Assistant, and Landscape Assistant. These roles involve the care, installation, and maintenance of various landscaping projects and green spaces.
