We are currently seeking a 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Automotive Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Workshop Foreman. Key Requirments:Demonstrate a genuine interest in the industryMust show initiative at all timesAble to follow safety procedures at all timesMinimum year 10 school educationValid C class driver’s licenseGood communication skills and a positive attitudeDrive to succeed Key Responsibilities:Carry out service, repairs and cleaning tasks as instructed by the Foreman/Service ManagerAll repairs should be carried out using good workshop practices and reference should be made to the workshop manuals for specific procedures and specificationsOn completion of a job card or at the end of a shift, a description of work carried out must be entered onto the job card and handed to the workshop Foreman or delegateAny workshop stock used must be entered on the job card, ie. oil, coolant and fuelA well-stocked toolbox is requiredWhen ordering parts, the relevant job card is to be presented and a parts requisition to be filled outOn completion of the job, it is to be presented for final check testing by the Foreman or delegate with the job card for signing cards must be filled in promptly and accuratelyWork bay areas are to be cleaned on the completion of each jobAny warranty items must be presented to the Warranty Clerk with warranty tag completed and attachedReport immediately any defective or unsafe workshop equipment to the Foreman or delegate and fulfil OHS responsibilities100% attendance at Tafe is mandatoryComply with all instructions given by Managers or their delegates and take all reasonable care to ensure your own health and safety at work and to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of any other person and to minimise pollution and damage to the environment through any action or omission Use all protective clothing and equipment provided in the manner in which you have been properly instructed to use itOur client is seeking to increase the diversity of their workforce and to improve equal opportunity outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
