The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Upholsterer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to learn a highly specialised trade while working with experienced upholsterers producing fine, handcrafted furniture.

 

What You Will Learn

Apprentices begin with foundational workshop duties, including:

  • General housekeeping and factory safety
  • Learning essential trade skills
  • Assisting with basic upholstery tasks

 

As your skills grow, you will progress into more complex and specialised components of the craft, including:

  • Frame preparation
  • Webbing, springing, and padding
  • Fabric cutting, sewing, and finishing
  • Restoration of antique and high end furniture

Our goal is to train and develop you into a first class tradesperson who takes pride in producing quality, handcrafted work.

 

 

Who We’re Looking For

Two candidate pathways are available:

Option 1: Apprentice Under 21 Years Old

  • Has a genuine passion for upholstery or hands on craft work
  • Is eager to learn a traditional trade
  • Wants to build a long term career in furniture making and restoration

 

Option 2: Mature Age Apprentice

  • We welcome mature age applicants who:
  • Have previous industry or related experience
  • Are looking to formalise or further develop their upholstery skills
  • Are committed to upskilling and building a career in the trade
