Irrigation Traineeship – Town of Victoria Park

Full-Time | 24-Month Traineeship | Osborne Park, WA

The Town of Victoria Park is offering an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to begin a hands-on career in parks and irrigation maintenance. This full-time, entry-level traineeship is ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification in a supportive and team-oriented environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Irrigation Officer, the successful candidate will assist in maintaining irrigation systems across more than 100 hectares of public open space. This includes active and passive reserves, streetscapes, gardens, and facility surrounds. The trainee will receive on-the-job training and mentorship while undertaking formal study in amenity horticulture or a related field.

Candidate Requirements

The Town is seeking applicants who demonstrate:

• Ability to follow instructions and work safely within a team
• Basic computer literacy and openness to learning new systems
• A current C class driver’s licence (MR licence desirable but not essential)
• Prior exposure to irrigation, horticulture, or outdoor work is advantageous but not required
