ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

Grouted delivers bathroom and wet area repair and fresh bathroom renovation. The business is created by passionate professionals and renovators Matt and Matt. The co-directors have 40 years of combined experience in Wall and Floor Tiling, Residential Design and Quality Project Management and are backed by a talented and hard-working team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be enrolled to complete a Tiling Apprenticeship while being supported by Grouted and a nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Laying ceramic, rectified porcelain, clay, natural stone tiles on external and internal walls and floors and curved surfaces to provide protective and decorative finishes.
• Levelling, smoothing and filling any holes and cracks in the surface to be tiled.
• Cutting individual tiles to shape and to fit around obstacles and openings.
• Grouting tile joints, leaving them smooth, clean and even.
• Mixing, applying and spreading various adhesive types such as, cement based, flexible adhesives, mastics and even 2-part epoxy on certain projects.
• Mitring tiles on corners and angles.
• Maintenance work such as removing and replacing cracked or damaged tile.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be reliable with good time management
• Be hardworking and committed to learning the trade
• Have good communication skills
• Have some trade experience (desirable, but not essential)
• Have a driver's license or ability to get to a job site or meeting spot for transport.
