Childcare Traineeship

Billabong Community Early Learning Centre is a not-for-profit organization that is community based and has been in operation since 1985. Educational programs are catered for three age groups divided between three rooms, namely the: Joeys Room (0-2yrs), Possums Room (2-3yrs) and Wombats Room (3-5yrs).

Both their outdoor and indoor spaces are designed to engage each child's developmental progress and are purpose built for the Centre. Their educators utilize both built and natural environments to design stimulating activities that encourage independent and group play.

The Centre are currently looking for a Childcare Trainee to join their team.

About you

• Demonstrate a genuine interest in childcare and a willingness to learn
• Possess a current Working with Children Check and WA Police Check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team
• Well-presented with a professional attitude
• Punctual and reliable

The selected candidate will be trained in various aspects of Childcare.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to);

• Actively supervising and playing with children
• Assisting with indoor and outdoor activities
• Preparation of light snacks and meals
• Assisting children with daily routines
• Sleeping, changing and toileting duties
• Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment
• Other duties as required
